DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to enroll all providers in governmental and commercial payer networks to obtain optimum reimbursement for services provided. This position also oversees the initial client set up for new practices and maintains a current database of credentials and enrollment contracts for all clients. This position is responsible for provider enrollment processes for all medical providers at medical practice clinics and hospital groups including emergency medicine. Enrollments will include practices in Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Idaho, Mississippi, California, Georgia and Utah.

DUTIES

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiates the process for credentialing and re-credentialing of all medical providers to include gathering of all the required documents to be used for governmental and commercial payer enrollments.
  • Provides support and assistance for new practice setup as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and current information in the credentialing software database.
  • Maintains credential files in an orderly and current manner. 
  • Maintains communication with medical practices for enrollment support and guidance.
  • Provides research and administrative support to special projects.
  • Ensures HIPAA guidelines are respected by safeguarding protected health information in the capacity of the position and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

PROFESSIONAL:

  • High school graduate, some college preferred.
  • Minimum of three years office experience in healthcare related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years credentialing and/or provider enrollment experience preferred.
  • Proficient in office information systems, internet skills, and database management.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic conflict management skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential information, including financial and contractual arrangements.
  • Requires strong organization, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to communicate with all levels of staff and to work cooperatively to achieve 
  • objectives.
  • Ability to concentrate on highly detailed work despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ensures HIPAA guidelines are respected by safeguarding protected health information in the capacity of the position and responsibilities.
