PracticeMax is seeking an experienced individual with technical know-how and excellent customer service skills to join our growing Help Desk Team. The ideal candidate has the ability to triage many requests at once, while providing superior customer service to the staff and clients of PracticeMax. The Help Desk Support Specialist II is the main point of escalation for the rest of the helpdesk team and the go to for more complex IT issues. The Help Desk Support Specialist II responds to requests from support through our ticket system and team escalations. This position requires excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others as well as superior time management skills and strong ability to multitask.

Primary Responsibilities

Requests for support to include but not limited to:

  • Take incoming help-desk calls from internal and external users
  • Monitor and respond to support tickets submitted through the support website
  • Maintain documentation by reviewing and updating the support wiki
  • Take Escalated issues from other team members as appropriate
  • Systems maintenance and networking support (as capable)
  • End-user support for:
    • Desktop Hardware and Mobile Devices
    • Printers / Scanners
    • Software / Applications
    • User Accounts 

Skills / Qualifications 

  • Self-motivation to accept and complete tasks
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve undocumented issues
  • Usage of help desk software for organization and tracking of support requests
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Readiness to travel locally/Ability to travel to customer location (required)
  • Experience in the healthcare industry (preferred)

Operating Systems / Environments 

  • Windows Server and Desktop
  • Windows Remote Desktop Services / Terminal Services
  • VMware

Hardware

  • Workstations, laptops, mobile devices, VOIP phones
  • Printer setup and configuration (local, network and remote desktop services) 

Software

  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange / Outlook
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) including Office 365
  • Skype for Business / Lync
  • Healthcare related technologies and software platforms (preferred)

Education/Experience

  • 4+ years relevant work experience
  • A+, Network+ or other relevant certifications (preferred)
