Position Title: Director of Human Resources


Position Reports: CEO


The incumbent will serve as a member of the leadership team and will be responsible for all Human Resources activities including, Recruitment, Benefits/Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and managing/directing the HR team.  The Director will be expected to work collaboratively with management to assist in the design and support the goals of the organization.


Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

- Conducts effective, thorough, confidential, and objective investigations. - Directs HR staff in conducting exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. - Provides day to day performance management guidance to staff (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

Benefits Compliance and Administration

- Annually reviews and makes recommendations for benefits changes, coordinates open enrollment meetings with the broker, resolves benefit issues for staff, interprets benefits and provides ongoing support. - Responsible for ensuring accurate participant benefit administration and billing.

Policies and Procedures

- Develops, implements, reviews and makes recommendations to leadership for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters and insure proper compliance is followed. - Writes policy. Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

Compensation Design and Administration

- Assists leadership in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary programs - Writes all salary, bonus, promotion, termination, and new hire offer letters.

Essential Education / Experience:

  • 5-7 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Master's degree and HR Certification preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present in a group setting.
  • Professional self-starter, able to work collaboratively with others.
  • Project a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Must provide strong leadership including vision and promoting/leading change.
  • Excellent knowledge on how to source and network through traditional means, social media, internet and other mediums.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment laws.
  • Ability to prioritize ever-changing priorities.
  • Deals well with ambiguity.
